Parliament Resolution No. 23 of August 28, 2020 provides for the construction of a 300 MW power plant in Altanshiree soum, Dornogovi aimag, in the “Five-Year Development Plan of Mongolia in 2021-2025”. The construction of a 300 MW power plant in Altanshiree soum will provide electricity to the Sainshand industrial park, the non-ferrous metallurgy plant in the eastern region, the copper smelter in the southeastern region and other major projects.
With an annual operating time of 6,800 hours (about 9 and a half months) for a 300 MW thermal power plant, the annual electricity generation capacity is 2,040 million kWh, and the plant can generate a total of 51,000 million kWh in 25 years of operation.
